Director Micheal Moore gives insight on what George W. Bush and his involvement in the 9/11attack and Afghanistan war in Fahrenheit 9/11.Moore reveals the shocking reasons as to why Bush wanted to start the Afghanistan war in the first place and what strategies he uses that involve the American citizens. The shocking truth of what was sacrificed and taking advantaged of is all revealed in Fahrenheit 9/11.
In the image of Moore getting footage of Bush while it says no more pictures shows Bush was hiding a hidden agenda in the 9/11 incident. What was hidden was in fact his lie of weapons of mass destruction located in Afghanistan and using the American citizen's patriotism to his advantage to start the war.The photo of Dearth Vader with a shirt saying he's a metaphor of Bush shows what is for committing the injustice acts in the Afghanistan war in order to obtain what he wants. The fact that Bush falsified patriotism and lied about the WMD info shows the metaphor of Vader and himself. The last picture showing Moore revealing Bushes actions of 9/11 and the Afghanistan war's negative effects to Afghanistan and America to Cannes,a movie festival in France, shows how the flaming American flag personifies the destruction of America due to Bushes actions as President.

Blog Entry 19:The Story of Stuff
In the story of stuff, a corporation from one country will extract or take resources of another country. The first country benifits because they are taking from that second country and gain profit by using the other countries resources to make their products. The second country suffers from this action because their economy decreases while they are forced to either buy back their resources or adjust to this radical change. This action is completly wrong, because someone greatly suffers from this type of action regardless of another's benifit.Evidence would be in the movie Sleep Dealers where the mexicans are forced to buy their own water from their river when the U.S. build a dam for their own benifit.
Blog Entry 18:Sleep Dealer essay
In the movie "Sleep Dealers," Mexicans are forced to buy their own water because the United States
build a dam on their own river. The Mexicans cannot afford the water,so they are forced to work for the U.S.
In the cartoon "A Concise History of Black-White Relations in the U.S.A,"shows a caucasian male taking advantage of an African American male.Afterwards,he abandons the African American because he is done
using him.The movie and the cartoon connect because they both show the dominant race taking advantage of
the minority.

Fast-food restaurant chains like McDonald's are criticized by "nutritionist and dietitians.Fast-food restaurants still target poor people.since the poor are looking for cheap meals,fast-food restaurants like McDonald's use their "super size" gimmicks to get more poor customers to eat at McDonald's.The super size
combo meal has 1,340 calories compared to the regular meal at 680 calories.Due to my personal experience with fast-food restaurants, what the article suggests is true.
An experience I had with fast-food proves the article's claim. One afternoon,at a McDonald's,I ate the Angus mushroom and Swiss and combo. The combo came with medium sized fries and a medium sized soda. When I finished eating the meal,I looked at the nutrition facts,to know what I ate. After I looked at the nutrition facts, the calories for the Angus burger were 380 calories. After I looked at the calories from the burger,I then looked at the calories from the fries and the soda. The fries had 120 calories and the soda had 140 calories. When I added the calories of the entire meal, it was half a day's worth of calories.
When you eat one fast-food combo, you are eating half a day's worth of calories. If you eat half the day's worth of calories, the calories you consume will be unused fat if not burned out.Excessive fat leads to diabetes, obesity, and heart attacks

The reason the makers of the Meatrix used the Matrix as it's means for their arguments is because like all the humans trapped in their minds, people don't know the truth behind where their dairy products come from. Also in the Maetrix, the animals that are trapped in the Meatrix or farming industtry, humans are trapped in the Matrix.Humans are oblivious in both the Matrix and the Meatrix about reality.

Blog Entry 13
The Matrix is about computers controlling the lives of humans on Earth and use them as an energy resource to operate the Matrix.Humans assume that they're living ordinary lives, but are actually trapped inside their minds.Neo,an ordinary human that's bored of his everyday life meets the mysterious Morpheus and gives gives him a choice of taking the blue pill, which puts him back to his ordinary life,or the red pill, which shows him the truth about the Matrix.Neo takes the red pill and joins Morpheus and his entourage that also know the truth. Neo,as well as Morpheus and his entourage fight the computers of the Matrix that have a human form called "Mr.Smith and the Matrix in order to save humanity.I say taking the red pill is a better choice because of two reasons,to know the truth and to not be held prisoner.
I say red pill because it's better to know the truth than to know lies.People asks questions or seek the truth themselves because it's human nature to want to know whats real or not real.Truman wanted to know if his everyday life was real or controlled in the Truman Show due to certain events in the movie that made him unsure about the reality of his everyday life.
Red pill is my choice because I don't want to be held prisoner in my mind or held prisoner in general. A prisoner is someone with no freedom just like the humans trapped in their minds and are considered prisoners. Jews were deprived of their lives and freedom and had to work to death in order to create the pyramids of Egypt the Pharaoh of Egypt's orders can be considered prisoners.Truman was a prisoner prisoner in a show starring himself his entire life being unable to even leave Seahaven or The Truman Show itself due to subtle interferences.
As I said before,I would take the red pill without hesitation. It's better to be a free man that knows the truth than an ignorant prisoner in life.I wouldn't be in the Truman,or Jews during the age of Mozis.Besides,in the movie the Matrix,Neo becomes a hero that stops the Matrix so it's pretty much a no brainer to choose the red pill in this situation than the blue pill.

Blog Entry 12:Reflection and Evaluation
Overall in my two blog series,I think I did better in blog series 2 than in blog series 1.There are two reasons as to why I have this claim, and they're summaries and the movies I saw for my writing assignments.I write better summaries than essays and what I saw mostly in blog series 2.In blog series 1 however,I was just beginning to understand the order of claim, reason, and evidence so most of my essays in blog series 1 has some reasons that weren't clear or made sense to support my claims.
In blog series 1,I basically had a hard time posting my blogs on time due to my lack of focus and concentration in finishing my essays.I'm not really good at writing essays so some of the essays in series 1 are "rough around the edges".I had some problems specifically in blogs 5 and 6 because I had a hard time summarizing the article "The Allegory of the cave" and describing my life to the article until I saw the video about the "Allegory of the cave".Despite some problems in series 1,I do clearly explain my claims in the essays that ask for claim.
In blog series 2,watching the movies,"The Truman Show and The Matrix" improved my reasons and evidence in order to write my essays.I can understand any movie I watch for the first time so it was esay to complete my writing assignments.Writing comments about the two movies felt more natural because I writing my opinions on someone claims about the movies.
Again,as I said overall,I prefer blog series 2 than blog series 1 because it was easier to me.I think I did an ok job on both series regardless of some difficulties.I honestly hope that blog series 3 has less blogs to write than series 1 and 2.

Blog Entry 11:CAT-W Practice 3 Revision
Timothy Sexton's article "The Dangers of Reality TV" talks about the negative ideas of reality TV.Making reality TV be competitive, entertaining, and have no education is the best way to describe what reality TV is as a whole.According to the article, the reason that education isn't something reality TV use is because "education was completely unnecessary to fulfill the American dream.
I agree with the ideas that Sexton says in the article,in fact,I believe reality TV is the saddest excuse for entertainment I've ever seen and I wish reality TV shows were canceled. The fact that people in reality TV shows compete for money, or to go out with a person is why I hate reality TV with all my heart. There are 2 factors that always get people to participate and compete in reality TV shows, and they're money and fame.Participants want money that comes from the shows prizes and want fame just for the fact that they're on TV and want to get some recognition for personal gain.
One example for gaining money in reality TV is Fear Factor because Fear Factor gives away cash prizes in a competition for doing certain stunts that range from eating bugs/appendages to standing on top of trucks, convayerbelts, and boats. An example for gaining a boyfriend/girlfriend would be girls competing in Flavor of Love,or guys competing in I Love NewYork reality TV shows. The personal gains in Fear Factor is money, while in Flavor of love and I Love NewYork would be the boyfriend/girlfriend and fame that comes with participating in the shows. The fact that all these shows are categorized as entertainment in every cable company in America shows how little education has an influence.
The fact that your doing dangerous and stupid stunts in reality TV shows that my claim and Sexton's claim are completely true.People should focus on education to get their brains more active than on reality TV thats making the population stupider.I honestly hope that reality TV will no longer exist in the future.

Blog Entry 9:Telecommute Report-Out
I'm not used to the telecommute because it's honestly my first time doing something like
that. The fact that it's the first time I'm actually posting blogs in general is kind of obvious that
I don't like the activity. It's not that I hate it,it's just I need to gain more experience on writing
my blogs. The activity itself in general is really clever to use as class work.

Claim: I don't think Neo is a hero
Reason: I don't think Neo is a hero because most people
would be in the same situation.
Evidence:There were others who contributed to saving the world like
Morpheus and Trinity, besides Neo just happened to be in the right place
at the right time when he took the red pill.

Blog Entry 6: "My place in the cave"
The Allegory of the cave story kind of reminds me of my life do to the fact that I stay inside my house regardless of any situation.Me playing videogames all the time in my house without going outside is a perfect example of the people in the allegory of the cave looking at shadows all the time.My position would be me only focusing on videogames in life and not really focusing on the world.

Blog Entry 5: Summary of "The Allegory of the cave"
Socrates tells Glaucon a story about humans living underground in a cave with there arms and necks chained to a wall. Socrates continues saying that the chained humans life revolves around looking at shadows. Then Socrates mentions that if one human living underground were to leave the cave and were to experience the outside world and become amazed about the experience. Finally Socrates would say that the humans inside the cave will make themselves feel better by making up honors.

Blog Entry 7: Reflection and Evaluation
Honestly I had some difficulties in blog series 1.One problem was that I had difficultyfinishing the series on time.Another problem was because of my lack of structuring in my essaysdue to the fact that I barely even write essays at all.I do know the whole structure of claim, reason, then evidence,it's just that I have some problems on how to explain my claim in one of my essays.
I do like the idea of someone commenting on my writing since they'll give me advice onwhat I'm improving, understanding,or need work on.Watching the videos on the blogs like "The Allegory of the Cave" video gave me a better understanding on how I was able to write my 5th and 6th blog entries. All and all,Ienjoyed writing my essays despite certain problems in some of my blogs.

Blog Entry 4: "Hype Workshop"
Advertisement is basically being considered poison in the point of view of Kalle Lasn due the fact that ads are a powerful threat for the brains of the North American population. There used to be places to escape from ads but due to the fact that it never stops and are in everywhere you wouldn't even consider would have ads. 12 billion display ads, 3 million radio commercials, and 200,000 TV commercials shows exactly why it's not an exageration when its quoted "the most prevelant and toxic of the mental polluntants".
I agree with what Kalle Lasn is saying in her article "Hype" that advertisement is a toxin because I personally believe advertisement is like poison since I've seen a lot of commircial ads of skittles and the next thing I know I start destroying my teeth with the rainbow as if I was ordered to.When I was a little kid
there was one place that I keep asking my parents to take me to buy toys which I saw in an ad, and that was
my heaven back in the day,Toys RUs. When it comes to killing games, I see in a gameinformer magazine the
two most popular shooter games, and they're Killzone and Black-Ops. These are three examples are basically my whole agreement with Kalle Lasn.
When it comes to ads I personally think that the fact that there are 12 billion display ads, 3 millon radio commmercials, and 200,000 TV commercials every day makes me wonder when is there never an ad of anything poping up in your face as you go through your daily lives doing whatever your doing. To consider advertisement a toxin is probably the greatest way to describe it but I wouldn't call it toxic but more as a cold that never goes away. One example would be the proactive commercials that some popular celebrities have been paid to be in as well as fitness equipment that supposably helps you lose weight like the shakeweights. When it comes to ads North America definitely "takes the cake".
Destroying kids minds by using the things they love most, and thats candy, toys, and videogames. One example of candy would be Skittles T.V ad ending with "taste the rainbow"; yeah I taste it alright but is it the rainbow or is it ad poison that I taste in my mouth with skittles. Back in the day there used to be so many toys I bought and played with when I was five-years old because of ads, and they slinkies, playdoh, legos, and yoyo's all wrapped up in one place I like to call "Toys RUs" my heaven as a little kid. The thing
about videogames is that there are two types of games that the majority of American's always buy even to thisday and they are single-player shooter, and multi-player shooter games like Kill Zone, or Black Ops with one single goal, killing the other players by shooting them with god knows what kind of gun. The worse thing about this ad is that violence is shown in these types of games what I think is the worst type of ad poison.
To sum everything up, advertisement really could be considered the world's best toxic for mental polution. The speed in which ads appear daily could probably be as fast as the speed of light. The fact that it's a non-stopping cold isn't an understatement. Lets just hope that in the future that advertisement doesn't corrupt us to the point that it destroys our North America.

Blog Entry 3: Summarizing "Hype"
Kalle Lasn says in the article "Hype" the effects of advertisement in North America. Advertisement is basically poison for the minds of the population in America now that ads sneak up on you everywhere. You'll see ads in the places you go to or things you use whether you like it or not, so "you can run but, you can't hide".

What I obtained from the annotations with the class was the ability to organize the main idea and my opinions of a passage buy writing it down.
What I obtained by writing annotations for "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" was the main idea of the article and also examples of how google or my laptop makes me think less in my daily life.
What I learned from reading by annotating was seeing the important ideas of the article more clearly.
Annotating can make me a better writer by helping me organize the main idea as well as my thoughts.
